Unshaven and less bleeding implantation process.
The DHI, Direct Hair Implantation, hair implantation technique is the latest hair transplant technique and offers a 100% natural result. The implanted hair continues to grow throughout life and does not fall out. Unlike other hair transplant techniques such as the FUE method, with the DHI method it is no longer necessary to open channels (receiver sites) in the receiving area. The DHI technique uses a special implant device called the DHI implanter. This device allows direct implantation of the hair follicles without pre-made incisions or channels in the receiving zone.
The DHI technique uses a special implant device called the DHI implanter. This device allows direct implantation of the hair follicles without pre-made incisions or channels in the receiving zone. Thus, the step of opening channels is skipped. For this reason, your hair does not need to be shaved in the reception area. The advantage of the DHI method is that there is almost no bleeding during the implantation process. The hair follicles are implanted directly into the recipient area using the DHI Implanter. With the use of this implant device there is complete control and security over the depth, direction and angle of the implanted hair follicles. This gives the desired result and the best hair transplant possible.
Direct hair implantation, less bleeding
The DHI Implanter allows direct implantation of the hair follicles without pre-cuts in the receiving zone. This has the advantage that almost no bleeding occurs during the implantation process.
Only shave the donor area
There is no need to shave when choosing the DHI, only the donor area is trimmed. In Micro FUE hair transplantation, the entire scalp must be shaved before the procedure.
In some forms of balding, more density per square centimeter can be achieved with the DHI method. Thanks to the DHI method, it is possible to implant 50-55 hair follicles per cm2, while with the Micro-FUE method it is 40-45 per cm2.
By using the DHI implanter and avoiding incisions in the recipient areas, damage to the scalp is minimized. The recovery process is therefore faster with the DHI method compared to Micro-FUE.
The procedure begins with local anesthesia using the “Comfort-in” needle-free injection device.
Hair follicles are harvested one at a time from the donor area using a specially designed device with a diameter of 1mm or less.
The hair follicles are placed into the DHI Implanter and then implanted directly into the scalp.
The DHI method is a hair transplant technique that is performed using a special implant pen, also called a DHI implanter. With this method, the removed grafts are implanted directly into the recipient area.
Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) ensures a natural look and maximum hair density. The likelihood of scarring in the recipient area is minimal with DHI as no channels need to be created. There is also no bleeding in the implantation phase. The risk of crusting is therefore also very low. Because there is less damage to the scalp, recovery is faster with the DHI technique.
The main disadvantage of the DHI method is that the procedure takes longer, which means that a maximum of 3000 grafts can be transplanted during one session. While in Micro FUE method the maximum is 4500 grafts.
We would like to explain this to you using the so-called Ludwig scale. The Ludwig scale is an extremely useful tool to determine how bald a woman is and if anything can be done about this hair loss. During the first consultation at the Visus Hair Clinic, we analyze the shape of your bald head and classify it using the Ludwig scale. All categories, scale 1 to 4, can be treated with a hair transplant
The duration of the DHI procedure depends on the amount of hair follicles needed and the degree of hair loss. A patient with minor hair loss may only need a short session of around 3-4 hours, while for 3000 grafts you should expect around 6 hours.
You can have your hair colored again 8 weeks after the treatment.
You can have your hair cut again 4 weeks after the hair transplant, but your skin will remain vulnerable. Pass this on to your hairdresser. It is not allowed to shave your head, not even with a razor/clipper. It is only allowed to cut your hair with scissors.
You can shave your hair again 6 months after the hair transplant.
Do not wear a hat, hat or cap for the first 15 days after treatment. After 15 days wearing a hat or hat is possible again, provided it is not too tight. You can wear a cotton (woven) hat or bandana for 1 month after the hair transplant. If you do this sooner, there is a chance that the grafts will be pulled out of your scalp or that the direction of growth will change.
The hair stubble that can be felt after the treatment usually falls out in the first month. After about three months, the hair begins to grow again. Hair growth is clearly visible six months after treatment. Only after a year is there talk of a “final result”.
